Macro Photography Part One

Macro Photography is one of my favourite form of photography when I get the chance, it opens up an amazing world of patterns and colours that we walk past everyday. By using a 100mm 2.8 Macro lens this enables me to get extremely close up to 1cm away from the subject and almost acts like a magnifying glass.

When shooting plants like this up close I normally focus across the subject to get the centre of the plant in focus then everything gets blown out of focus in the background , creating an amazing haze of color in the background. Some photographers use a tripod to capture close up images, but I prefer to holding the camera by hand and move the lens around the subject until I get the framing I want.

Hope you like these images I took in the summer at various part of the UK.
